Health and Safety Policy
The Senior Management of United Utilities believe the provision of a safe and healthy work environment is fundamental to good business operations, and are committed to safeguarding and improving the health and welfare of the Company's employees and all others affected by its Operations.
This will be achieved by establishing and achieving measurable health and safety objectives and targets that are reviewed on an annual basis. These objectives and targets will aim to ensure continual improvement in work practices and the elimination of work-related injury and illness.
Adequate financial and physical resources will be made available to ensure a safe place of work. The core occupational health and safety objectives of United Utilities in Australia are to:
- control workplace hazards and safeguard public health;
- comply with all relevant occupational health and safety legislation
- train and educate employees and contractors on relevant matters of health and safety.
Responsibilities
All employees have a responsibility to themselves, their colleagues, the Company and to the wider community to work safely and cooperate to achieve the high standards required by the policy. The Company will consult with employees and others to ensure their involvement on matters of health and safety, and will seek expert advice in any health and safety matters which stretch beyond internal capabilities.

The latest revision of this statement is displayed throughout all sites and otherwise brought to the attention of all employees and those with whom we work. It is available to the public on request. The regular review of this statement is facilitated via the Company's Management Review Process.
